Artist Eriq Riebeek is one of the few, if not the only painter from Suriname making a decent living in the Bay Area
Eriq started painting at the age of 9. At 13 he won the second prize for what was called “De Nationale Kunst Beurs" which inspired his continued painting.
He is an alumnus of the Nola Hatterman Art Institute, founded in 1960.
After emigrating to the US in the 1980s he continued his craft, participating in various exhibitions in the Bay Area.
His work can be found in private collections in NY, Suriname and the Netherlands.
